The mission of the Longwood University Athletics Department is to build school pride and amplify the great story of Longwood University. We are committed to empowering people to reach their potential in intellectual pursuits, in athletic competition, and in community outreach to serve as citizen-leaders.
Your Impact
You can have a huge impact on our mission by donating to several different areas within our department. Below you can find the different athletics funds that you can provide resources to.
Team Specific Funds – Gifts given to team-specific funds are used to enhance operating budgets and provide head coaches with additional resources for recruiting, training equipment, and other items that enhance the student-athlete experience.
Lancer Scholarship Fund – Gifts given to the Lancer Scholarship Fund are used to support the current scholarship needs of student-athletes. The Lancer Scholarship Fund provides coaches and the Director of Athletics flexibility in strategic recruitment and retention of talented Lancer students and athletes.
Scholarship Endowment Funds – Gifts to scholarship endowment funds provide critical, long-term support for student-athlete scholarships. If you are interested in establishing a named scholarship endowment fund for Lancer athletes, please contact Trey Eggleston (egglestontm@longwood.edu; 434-395-2138).
Lancer Fund – Gifts given to the Lancer Fund support strategic priorities of the Director of Athletics and general support of the Athletics Department in areas like academics, student athlete-health and welfare, and facility upgrades.
Rise to 5
Longwood Athletics has launched the Rise to 5 initiative seeking to increase the annual membership of the Lancer Club to 5,000 members.
With a larger foundation of athletics support, our department will provide our student-athletes with an increased amount of scholarships and resources. This support will help them to reach their highest level of potential in the classroom and in competition.
An annual gift of any size, to any athletics fund, secures your Lancer Club membership for the year.
